Scan after each update

I want to share a habit which can't harm you but can save you lots of money and irritations.

Scan the computer after each update.

Some time ago I updated a very trusted program, but my cmputer started to act weird.
I disconnected from internet immediately and scanned my computer.

My children told me I was nuts, as I scanned the computer right before the update.

I was right to do so, though.

Turned out someone mimicked the update graphic of the trusted program so well, that I took it for real and downloaded a nasty computer animal.

My scanners caught it and destroyed it. Pffff.

Autism Awareness Month

.

Today the autism awareness month has started.

Some countries pay attention to autism all month, others have decided to dedicate a special week to autism and others have decided to follow the appeal of the United Nations to name april 2 autism awareness day.

As many countries have sites which list events, I have to ask you to go to the sites of your own country.

When you want more information please pay a visit to the new site of Action for Autism here.

The Dutch part of the site will follow soon.

prevent a burglary in your house

With internet it's easy to spread information about yourself without overseeing the consequences.

It's easy to talk to friends in a chatprogram and tell them you're off to do some groceries, fetch the children from school, or that you're away on holdiay for two weeks.

But be aware that others are reading at the same time, and they might not have your wellbeing as their first interest.

Research showed that many burglaries are planned after it's told on internet that someone is away, or after reading in the paper that people are to a funeral.

Better keep certain information private enough.
