Fun with an union

Take an union and a few matches or cocktailpens.

Pour some water in a glass.

Stick the matches at half the height of the union in the union.

Place the union on the glass resting on the matches.

It shouldn't touch the water but be above it quite near.

Wait and watch, and you'll see the union change into a plant which flowers in the summer.

This works well with potatoes, too. I grew lots of them many years ago.

Speaking of onions, yesterday I learned on Lifehacker.com that soaking an onion in water will eliminate the tears when cutting it. I haven't tried it yet.

Found you on WillOaks blog today.
